Dehydrator Snacks

Hey everyone! I don’t know if it’s the calm before the storm but the weather is AMAZING here today. It’s sunny and warmer than it has been and generally pleasant. I have the windows open and I’m getting stuff done and it feels pretty good to be productive.

Part of this burst of productivity includes not one but two dehydrator snacks!

First up I made some salt and vinegar kale chips! I wanted kale chips, I’ve been on an apple cider vinegar kick, and I didn’t want to put THAT much effort into making them so the stars aligned and these Salt & Vinegar Kale Chips are ready to be eaten ;)

Since there wasn’t a thick coating on these kale chips they only took about 3 hours to dehydrate! The seasoning is easy… one tbsp olive oil, two tbsp raw apple cider vinegar and sea salt. Easy as that!

I also figured now was a great time to FINALLY try Gabby’s Raw Wheat Thins Crackers. I’ve been dying to try these since she posted them and now is finally the time :) These take much longer to make so they are still in the dehydrator. They smell great, I can’t wait to try them!

I had to gently cut mine into squares since my dehydrator is a circle but I was impressed that they stayed together. They look soooooo good!

I have another half a tray along with these and I have a feeling they are going to go quick. Yum!

Other than these treats it’s business as usual today. Fingers crossed I can avoid getting called in for jury duty for as long as possible this week.

  1. Yum! I love kale chips and wheat thins – so both of these recipes should be on my “to-try” list! I’m glad you were able to have a productive dehydrator day. :)

    I spent 7 and a half hours at the courthouse before I was finally dismissed, when I had jury duty. It was for a murder trial, so I was quite glad not to miss four weeks of work for it!

    • Both are really great snacks! Definitely give them a try! It was definitely a productive day.

      Ugh I have to go in tomorrow and I really hope I get dismissed because I can’t lose any more days of work. So annoying.

      Eh, it’s going well I guess. I am losing energy quick because it’s hard for me to eat enough. I really don’t think 100% raw is beneficial for me but I’m going to try and stick it out a little longer.

  2. It seems as though everyone is getting warm weather lately except for us. Enjoy it for me! I can’t wait to be able to open the windows.

    Great looking snacks. The crackers especially look awesome. I hope you avoid jury duty this week!

    • Aww it’s going to get cold again here too. Spring will be here soon enough, sit tight and stay warm!

  3. Those crackers look yummy. In my pre-vegan days, I’d eat a whole box of store-bought crackers in a day or so. Not so healthy. I rarely eat crackers anymore, mostly because it’s hard to find vegan brands. It’s probably for the best since I have a weakness for crunchy snack foods.

    • Thanks! Crackers can be so addictive, probably all of the salt. These are really delicious though and the salt can be left to your discretion. Crunchy snack foods are so good, I definitely know how that goes!

    • I am so glad I finally got the dehydrator. When you can get one I highly suggest it. The crackers were really delicious, definitely worth the wait! :)
